Ace Nation is an Alternative Hip-Hop project born out of the collaborative experience between Nick Sansone (co-founder of Love Pocket) and Abdoulaye Toure (vocals/Love Pocket) during the production of Love Pocket's 2014 debut EP, 'Music, Love, & Other Drugs'. Ace Nation is made up of Nick Sansone, Abdoulaye Toure, Corey Powell (co-founder & guitarist of The Good Folks), Zach Goodman (bassist on Love Pocket's M.L.O.D.).
The band's newest effort is the groovy record titled "Love Adjustment". A record that dwells on a love-lorn situationship. The NYC group craft a solid blend of jazz, hip-hop, funk bolstered by Abdoulaye Tour's vivid lyrics. He gives the listener an insight into his world as he raps "...drinking till I drown, smoking till I burn/ My conscience is dead so her boyfriend is not my concern/Nightmares of hell, daydreaming of heaven/Haters wishing my time is up like 11-11…".
"Love Adjustment" is off their recently released on January 26th, 2018 'Rhythm & Light' marks the full-length debut for the group. Six of the album's eight tracks were born out of a Manhattan jam session in September of 2015. Writing continued over the next two years and in March of 2017 the group hit the studio. Working with Producer/Studio Manager Abe Seiferth at Transmitter Park Studio, they began blending inspiration from 90s Hip Hop and 70s Rock & Disco – taking cues from artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, D'Angelo, ESG, Anderson .Paak, The Doobie Brothers, America, Bee Gees, David Bowie and Led Zeppelin.
