Portland's ePP has been fairly quiet the last few years, but since signing to Portland based label, Eyrst, he has been hard at work. Here he links toghether with new labelmate Sxlxmxn for a remix one of his 2016 anthems "Sammich". Sxlxmxn is one of Portland's most promising producers with credits for artists like Danny Brown and Smoke DZA. Sxlxmxn brings a dark and electronic production to this charged track. Some of the most interesting changes come to the vocals. The distortion of them almost fits a chopped and screwed track and certainly adds a layer of shade over the song. One of the the major themes from ePP's lyrics is the police treatment of people of color and injustices that come with that. Most of the production includes some heavy synths that help to control the tone throughout. Next up on the docket for ePP is a collaborative EP with Calvin Valentine and later this year we will get his debut album with Eyrst. Check out the original here and stream the remix here.
