We are going all the way to Lagos, Nigeria for this one. Rapper/producer M.I just dropped a new project he calls "Rendezvous", a 14 track body of work that taps into the trap/soul arena. The project is chock full of features from established and buzzing African acts such as Wande Coal, AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Moelogo, Odunsi The Engine, Tomi Thomas and others. From the look of things "Rendezvous" feels like a compilation than anything else and panders more to the wavey crowd with its very youthful sound and subject matter. There is nothing super serious for M.I to ponder on as he takes the listener through a day in the life of a super star rapper. Each song follows a thread as they lead from one point in time (starts at 6:30pm) to another (the project ends at 6:32am). Standout tracks include "One Way" feat UK based Nigerian singer Moelogo, "Soup" Feat. Cassper Nyovest, "Playlist" feat Nonso but there is definitely a variety of sounds throughout the project for everyone.
