Electro-pop outfit Hoshino struck a nerve from the instant we hit play on their latest single entitled "Stars (In The Night Sky)". The multi genre-fusing band deliver a glitchy, electro soundscape filled with the rich, sumptuous vocals of Elloise Rosemond and chilled, R&B/pop-inspired beats. The melodies are buttery and really shines through the lush, soulful production and you can instantly feel the influences of Erykah Badu, Little Dragon to name a few. This is pure soul-laced sound with a groove-laden finish.
The Essex based Hoshino is a melding of four minds as one. The band was formed in 2015 by Elloise, Adam, Matt and later joined by drummer Charlie. The smooth, soulful vocals of Ell intertwine with Adam’s intricate guitar grooves, Charlie’s driving rhythms & Matt’s popping basslines. Each element is glued together with bleeps & klangs and otherworldly fx. Influences include Erykah Badu, Little Dragon, John Frusciante & Bonobo to name a few. Championed by BBC Introducing, the group have taken their music to new heights with much more on the way.
