ARK IDENTITY captures the feeling of chasing your dreams on euphoric new single “Closer”

Toronto dream pop artist ARK IDENTITY (Noah Mroueh) returns with “Closer,” a dreamy, euphoric indie-synthwave release that captures the feeling of standing on the edge of something bigger.

Blending nostalgic production with deeply personal songwriting, the single reflects the emotional rush and restless momentum that come with chasing creative ambition and believing your goals are just within reach.

Inspired by his own journey as a musician, “Closer” explores the moment when progress starts to feel tangible. Each step forward reveals another horizon, another possibility. It becomes a song about believing you are approaching something transformative, while also recognizing that the pursuit itself never fully ends.

The release marks an important milestone for the ARK IDENTITY project, serving as his first fully self-produced track, with every instrument performed by the artist. During the recording process, he was experimenting with vocal ideas when his girlfriend entered his DIY studio and began adding melodies of her own. That spontaneous moment helped shape the final version of the song, and the two completed the writing together.

“One of my favourite lines is ‘Coming home from Hollywood leaves me wanting more.’ That lyric captures the song’s essence, the feeling of chasing something bigger and realizing no matter how close you get, there’s always another level you want to reach,” Noah explains. “I hope listeners connect to the message and are inspired to pursue their own dreams and passions.”

Production-wise, Noah leans into warm analog synths, spacious reverbs, and cinematic textures to create a sound that feels expansive and immersive. Subtle pop elements add a memorable hook and forward-driving energy, resulting in a blend of synthwave, indie pop, and dream pop that feels both nostalgic and modern.

ARK IDENTITY has quickly gained attention for crafting immersive soundscapes that sit between timeless and contemporary. His debut ANNDALE EP arrived in late 2024, with one of its singles featured on KCRW.

Two tracks from his sophomore Deluxe Nightmare EP received SiriusXM support across North America, alongside playlist placements on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify. He has also recently secured a distribution deal with ADA, a division of Warner Music.

Energizing and hopeful, “Closer” captures the feeling of creative momentum at its peak, inviting listeners to trust their path, even as it keeps unfolding.
