Manchester duo OC & Verde have spent the last two years steadily growing and gaining more recognition as two of the best in the business. Seeing their breakthrough year in 2016 with the release of 'Symphony', which featured on Pete Tong's Radio 1 show, their Masaai EP followed on Hot Since 82's Knee Deep and saw support from Skream, Yousef and Kolsch naming but a few. 2017 kicked off for the pair when videos appeared on the internet of dance hero Solomon playing the then-unreleased "Solstice", which eventually found its release on Steve Lawler's VIVa Music.

With every single OC & Verde release making its way on to BBC Radio 1, played either by Pete Tong, Annie Mac or Danny Howard, you can be sure that any new tracks coming to the fold will not be a disappointment. The latest is 'Sacrifice', which was released Monday 8th January in DJ Sian's techno talent pool Octopus Records.

"Sacrifice" comes in dark, heavy and ominous from the very first seconds of the track. With support from DJ's like Adam Beyer, this mix is a hypnotic and captivating 8-minute journey – with OC & Verde's signature hedonistic vocal samples finding their way into the middle of the track. With a perfect build and drop ratio, this is a sound you'll be hearing everywhere from main room peak time sets to heady warm-ups leading into the summer months. The EP also provides a B-side in 'History' which by no means is inferior to its opening track and provides an additional 8 minutes of progressive and impressive techno.

With their reputation moving from strength to strength and constant support from names like Sasha, John Digweed, Tale of Us and Maya Jane Coles – as well as the aforementioned artists – you can expect to be hearing a lot more from these two in 2018.

OC & Verde's "Sacrifice" is out now on Octopus Records and available to purchase via Beatport
