Too $hort is a pioneering godfather of west coast hip-hop and gangsta rap. His influence across the genre and throughout the decades have put him in a very exclusive grouping that places him alongside the likes of Snoop Dogg, N.W.A. & Tupac – some of the greatest to ever do it.
As he prepares for the release of his 20th (and final) studio album The Pimp Tape [EMPIRE (slated for early 2018)], Too $hort has unleashed Bay Area collective, Hella Disrespectful. The mixtape sheds light on the surge of local talent being fostered in his hometown of Oakland and the greater Bay Area including G-Eazy, Mozzy, Nef Tha Pharaoh, Iamsu!, Mistah F.A.B., E-40 and more. "It's an exciting time be from the Bay," he said. "The amount of talent coming from the city is respectable."
