At only 19-years-old, the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Maya B is well on track to becoming a household name. And that's having the confidence in your vocals to take advantage of subtle acapella moments in a track and not feeling like you need to pile on more sounds to cover up potentially beautiful downtempo moments – which she did on this track during a moment of light key play in the background. As a debut single, from such a fresh young artist, one could say that the what sounds like experienced vocals here is, in fact, a highly practiced natural talent. This was made evident to me during the various times she delivered vocals with a precision that fit the right portion of the track – soft and flowy, then confident and alluring.
