B•R•A•U•N is the new moniker of Ben Braun, one half of Portland, OR synth pop duo Mackintosh Braun. Today we have the pleasure of premiering the latest single from his upcoming debut B•R•A•U•N album Silent Science titled "Gardens". It's a sparkling yet introspective tune that Braun himself describes as "one of those rainy Portland songs that I wrote right after going through a rough time." Infused in radiant synths, chorused guitars, and punchy drums, Braun's airy vocals sing of accepting the challenges and changes life throws at you. "It's sort of an internal monologue, trying to convince myself that change is imminent and necessary. In the end you really have no choice but to let it happen," Braun says. Everything comes together in the chorus, a beautiful tapestry of sounds that create a palpable feel of longing and melancholy.
