Seattle rap-man and Rhymesayer Grieves delivers one more set of visuals ahead of his fifth studio album, Running Wild. One of the most unexpectedly bouncy songs Grieves has ever found himself on, the video for "What It Dew" is equally as lighthearted. Rocking a baby blue suit and bow-tie, matching Chords' chill production, Grieves takes control of a dive bar purgatory. This is the one song off the album that subverts all expectations. For every textured guitar riff, Grieves responds with one his most nimble flows to date. He brings a smooth hook and lets the bass do the talking, proving that he did "step into the future." Directed by HELICAL (Carlos Cruz + Thai M. Tran), the patrons appear to be the living embodiment of Grieves' vices and the seven deadly sins. Though not a typical Grieves song in form, his flipping of a negative situation into a campy party for one makes this a typical Grieves track in function.
Following the release of the album, Grieves will kick off his North American headlining tour next week, hitting cities such as Philadelphia, Brooklyn, DC, Los Angeles, Denver, and more. You can catch a full set of dates here.
