Declan J Donovan releases anthemic second single "Better"

At just nineteen years old, U.K. born Declan J Donovan made waves with his debut single, which amassed 2.5 million streams in the first two months following its release. Donovan is back today, giving EARMILK the first listen to his anthemic sophmore single "Better".

According to Donovan, the song is "essentially about getting to a point in a relationship where you realise that your partner is better off without you – because the relationship has become too toxic". Donovan's strong vocal and catchy lyrics are reminiscent of early Ed Sheeran, while one could say the instrumentation on "Better" possesses more of a Kodaline-meets-James-Vincent-McMorrow vibe. As a result, "Better" is an undeniable hit. Donovan has all the makings of an artist who could blow up in a few years, and it is clear that this single is a triumphant step toward that breakout for Donovan.
