From the home of Thomas Shelby (Peaky Blinders reference for those who don’t know) comes yet another example of why the UK is killing the rap game, Thai Mason and his latest track “Larger Than Life.” On “Larger Than Life,” the Birmingham-based MC proves two things: 1. He can kill a hook. 2. He has insane breath control.

Seriously though, Thai must be a superhero or something to be able to go that long without breathing. Perhaps he’s related to Aquaman? He must have gills. There’s no other explanation for going from nearly a minute straight without taking a breath after the second chorus. Want to know what is truly larger than life? Thai’s lungs.
Breath control aside, “Larger Than Life” is an impressive effort for the young Brit. The Bearcubs produced track has a sunny feel to it, which matches the artwork perfectly (well done, boys), and utilizes a soft repeating choir sample to give almost a heavenly feel to the jam.
Thai tackles many a topic over the course of the track, from money to relationships, all while remaining grounded in his thoughts and opinions. For those digging this (which should be all of you), we’ve got some more good news. Thai is gearing up to release his first mixtape, As Above, So Below, before summer’s end.
