Coming on the back of the success of her debut mixtape Exhibit A and its lead single ‘Seal It With A Kiss’, produced by Liam Keegan (Justin Bieber, Sia, Kanye West), Southern California singer, songwriter and producer Adanna Duru returns with her brand new single titled ‘Fingertips’, the first offering from her forthcoming debut album Stardive. Fingertips is co-produced by Adanna and Grammy Award-winning production duo Wiidope (who has worked with Esperanza Spalding, Nicole Scherzinger, Terri Lynn Carrington), and featuring fast-rising Houston rapper John Ibe.

‘Fingertips’ is an infectious and captivating R&B/Soul offering, backed by an 80’s inspired synth-heavy bassline and lush drum arrangements, over which Adanna delivers a gloriously compelling vocal performance, perfectly complemented by Ibe’s commanding and graphic rap verse. Visually inspired by  Janet Jackson’s classic ‘That’s The Way Love Goes’, the music video for ‘Fingertips’ sees Adanna collaborating with creative director Amaka Ofomata and burgeoning director Tarek M (Shane Drake, Keith Urban), to deliver a fitting visual accompaniment, that not only helps to bring the innocent and nostalgic elements of ‘Fingertips’ further to life, but also allows Adanna to open up more to her audiences, in an honest and vulnerable way.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Fingertips’, Adanna says, “I wrote the song about the simplicity and innocence of a delicate kiss. It stemmed from my love for the feeling of having my face held when I am kissed by a man I really care about, and who really cares about me. I started off just writing ‘Fingertips’ about a kiss but it quickly morphed into a song about my appreciation for two people who truly admire, respect, cherish, and are committed to each other”.

Adanna Duru is an artist with a big heart and even bigger aspirations, with music in her blood. At 15, she landed a spot on Team Adam Levine on The Voice in 2012, and at 18, made the top 10 of American Idol in 2015, and last year, she released her acclaimed debut mixtape Exhibit A, and has garnered rave reviews and strong support from the likes of Billboard, Yahoo TV, and Bustle, along the way. Her debut album Stardrive is due to be released on August 18.
