For whatever reason, July 4th always feels like the beginning and the end of Summer. As if, now that Independence Day is over, you have nothing to look forward to before the Winter comes marching in.
Thankfully, multi talented UK artist Decosta Boyce is here to bring some serious heat with a track that’s warmer than a Summer’s day in LA, “Good Music.” The aptly titled track has a funky, soul feel that is equal parts Sly & The Family Stone, Chromeo, Daft Punk and Dam Funk. And to quote the singer himself, “There’s nothing like the sound of real music.”
Preach, dude.

Right from the jump, “Good Music” oozes funk. But not just normal funk, it’s that really fun funk. It’s wacky, it’s charming, and it’s easy to listen to, which is the perfect combination for a Summer Single.
Boyce is a talented cat and has played with the likes of the Everly Brothers, Mica Paris, and Beverley Knight. For “Good Music,” and all the tracks on his upcoming album Electrick Soul which drops August 18th, Boyce handled the song writing as well as lead vocals, guitar, and synth. This is a talented guy and if his resume somehow doesn’t prove that, “Good Music” certainly does.
