Nigerian singer/rapper Milli delivers his sophomore EP Childish after years of delays due to record label strife, personal tribulations amongst other issues. After severing ties with his former label, he instead went on to drop his debut EP Don't ask me what happened . On said project, he bared his mind on several issues but didn't dwell on them for long as his vision was on the next stage in his life.
Fast forward to 2017, the young man jumps back to his plan a and finally comes through with Childish .
The 9 track project is a blend of trap, r&b and afro-pop sounds. The inspiration behind the project is accomplishing what no one thought he could and not necessarily childish from the literal point of view. Kicks off with the solemn "For mum" which is an ode to his mum(who recently passed away) which he builds into a very bright and inspirational tune. As the EP progresses he flips into heavy trap vibes with "Flex" featuring rappers M.I & Ice Prince. He follows that up by venturing into the smooth afro-pop regions on "Monica" and "Not over you" and closes it with a bonus joint, the hustle oriented anthem "Work".
Interesting body of work that exudes wide mass appeal vibes and I dare say the kid can hold his own when it comes to singing. Get Childish and get familiar with Milli.
