Coming down off of the success of his last project, "The Rain", Noah O has announced an east coast tour. However, in lieu of a general tour announcement, he teams up with label mate, producer, and rapper $krill to bring "Charged Up (CUEmix)" as a gift to listeners. The freestyle opens with a sampled Ghostface Killah quote from the conversation between him and the Chef on "Shark Niggas (Biters)" off of the classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…, and it really only gets better from there. $krill, who produced this track, in particular, may have opened with that sample as a display of he and Ghost's shared distaste in unoriginality, or perhaps it was placed there out of nostalgia as a way to get followers of Charged Up hyped. Maybe it's a bit of both, either way, it feels right. The irony, of course, using the instrumental to Drake's "Charged Up" as the primary sample, albeit with a nasty drum kit and cadence added, giving it more of an uptempo bounce.
Aside from bringing events to RVA, building brands through creative house Dream for Purpose (spearheaded by Noah's manager, Ricky Dreamer), and preparing for this east coast tour, Noah is already working on another project slated for a drop this summer. There seems to be a great amount of momentum in the Charged Up Camp right now. Tour dates should be announced soon.
