The more I get to know Kai Wachi and his raucous yet stylized flow, the surer I become that this artist is the indisputable next in line to the grime throne. The man is back with a bold banger on Kannibalen sure to make an appearance on many a festival set list this summer. I'm a sucker for a massive buildup, and "SHUTITDOWN" keeps you white-knuckled for over a minute waiting for first contact to be made with the aliens… I mean the first drop. The remainder of the track careens from brutal bass to atmospheric otherworldly vocals and back to a second future-tinged drop that lets you finally catch you breath. It's a unexpected, innovative, and ultimately refreshing ride.
