It seems like it’s impossible to be unique in 2017. If you’re one in a million, there are a thousand people just like you out there. A sobering statistic but one that makes finding a unique artist that much more rewarding.
Lando Chill is such an artist. The Tuscon, Arizona resident is releasing his latest album, The Boy Who Spoke To The Wind June 23rd, and in promotion for that project, we at EARMILK get the chance to premiere his first single, “Break Them Shackles.”

“Break Them Shackles” sounds like the desert. Triceratop and The Lasso allow room to breathe on every note and every beat of the instrumental, giving a vastness to the track. As Lando comes in to do his thing, you can feel a real connection to the natural surroundings of his home town. You can almost imagine Lando creating the track in a studio perched on top a desert mountain.
The supreme attention to detail is what makes Lando standout. As an obvious nod to his album title, you can hear the wind blowing through Lando’s lyrics. This could easily come across as forced, but Lando and crew handle it with grace, giving added depth and meaning to his single.
