Following on from the success of "Smoke Signals Volume 1" on the Kaluki label – which included a sell out show at Manchester's Warehouse Project with Steve Lawler and Richy Ahmed – Kaluki are back with 'Smoke Signals Volume 2' Boasting another strong line up of big names including not only Do Not Sleep label boss Darius Syrossian, but also party animal production duo Solardo and techno/house mastermind Montel, the second EP is by no means inferior to its first installment.
Darius's "Disko Drop" is the EP opener, a high energy and uplifting peak set dancer with the clue well and truly in the name. A quick progression into feel-good disco pads with a soulful, shimmering vocal layered over the beats – still maintaining strong, deep kicks that keep this true to Syrossian's unimitable style. This one is a real feel good number – capturing the perfect summer party atmosphere just in time for the boat parties, festivals and beach days ahead.
