"Take another, take another shot of whiskey down. And I’ll keep drinking, I’ll keep drinking until I drown."
Yesterday, Arizona-based rapper Vee Tha Rula dropped a new single titled “Whiskey (1 Verse Hearse).” The short track, which clocks in just over 2:30, finds an introspective Vee rapping about his life, exactly the sort of pensive mindset you’d be in while sipping a nice healthy glass of whiskey.

From the jump, “Whiskey” has a different flavor than most of Vee’s recent songs. Take last year’s “Bowser” for example which was hard as fuck and had him spitting bars like a madman. “Whiskey” by contrast is more inner focused. The beat opens up with a high-pitched female vocal sample before a beautiful piano melody glides its way into the fray. It has a melancholy feel to it, the sort of thing that tastes better when washed down with a stiff drink.
It seems like Vee has been up to something. Just a week ago he dropped another track titled, “Rockstar” and one can only hope this is the start of a trend where we will see more consistent music from Vee. Until then, pour yourself a tall glass of whiskey and give “Whiskey (1 Verse Hearse)” a listen above.
