MF DOOM revamps old classics and drops new tracks

After reissuing the 2003 album Take Me to Your Leader this last September, MF DOOM is back with a new mix that debuted on Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel Radio Show today. The playlist features reinventions of several classic tracks, including “Banished” by JJ DOOM which uses a sample of “I Got the Keys” by DJ Khaled. Check out what the supervillain’s been up to below.

The mix also debuts three songs from an upcoming joint assembled by DOOM: “Snake Charmer Freestyle” by Kurious Jorge, “RE: (No Subject)” by Paul Barman, and "Fresh Cutz" ft. Hassan Chop – all three of which your ears will thank you for.

It’s not an album, but it’s something new from the reclusive genius. It’s a slow lick of the lips for hip-hop fans everywhere desperate for more work from MF DOOM as a producer and as an emcee. If nothing else, he proves he still has the itch to produce something original and the skills to update his style.

Check out “Fresh Cutz” (19:36) if you crave an ill new beat and buy the TMTYL reissue here.
