Most of us, myself included, found out about Aminé after the video for “Caroline” debuted a few months back. The Portland native has a very unique style that I would describe as almost, sunny. Which, when you think about it, is a pretty interesting thing when you’re raised in a place that is basically pissing rain 365.
Maybe music is his way of brining the sunshine in? Who can say.
In any event, “Baba” is a hot track that keeps with his unique rapping/singing/wacky style. Aminé's style is very playful, almost childish, but not in an annoying way, it’s refreshing. Only speaking for myself here, but I can get a little bogged down sometimes with all these rappers who seem to be taking everything and everyone so seriously (reasons why I always loved the Murs and Z Trip track “Breakfast Club”). It’s nice to hear somebody who seems to be enjoying life as he makes music.
