Mark Sultan (aka BBQ in The King Khan and BBQ Show) shares "Now You're Gone" [Premiere]

Later this month, The King Khan and BBQ Show will hit the road for the latest stint of their absurdist, decade-plus-long garage punk extravaganza. Oft dressed like luchadors on S&M night, these unabashed minstrels of mayhem have made a name for both their raucous live shows and their lo-fi ‘60s sound.

Mark Sultan (aka BBQ), in the midst of the tour, will be releasing an eponymous album, (titled BBQ, not Mark Sultan), and today EARMILK is premiering its latest single, “Now You’re Gone.”

In "Now You're Gone," Sultan maintains the same anthemic jangle that permeates his duo's upbeat protopunk. He also proves, though, that even jokesters can be emotive and poignant. Invoking the doo-wop vocal style of the '60s, he sings: “We’re all just sad and lonely, fighting in the rain / playing out our hopes and fears, so we’ll never be again.”

Indeed we are. BBQ arrives on November 25 via In the Red Records. In the meantime, go catch Sultan when he swings through your hood with King Khan. Tour dates below:
