This summer radio waves have been dominated with poppy bangers like “Don’t Let Me Down” by the Chainsmokers, “One Dance” by Drake, and “Can’t Stop That Feeling” by Justin Timberlake. With the last and hottest month of summer approaching, we need to cool things off a bit not heat things up, so we reached out for some tunes from WeDidIt Collective’s lastest signee, Swan Lingo. He dreams of summers with sunny lo-fi and dream pop vibes, neon-tinged night skies, and women with shoulder pad blazers and regrettable blowouts. To give us sun drop of nostalgia, he threw together a lo-fi summer playlist that you can definitely chill out and vibe to while you hoard around your A/C.
The addition of Swan Lingo to WeDidIt is surprisingly no surprise. The eclectic collective strives to elevate artists with unique musical styles, with likes of Shlohmo, Ryan Hemsworth, and RL Grime bringing plenty of diversity to their roster. It's a bold approach that allows them to establish loyal and artfully focused listeners. A month ago, Swan Lingo released his first EP Spirit Plug, which blends elements of lo-fi indie rock and dream pop with notes of shoegaze, underscored with drum machines and topped off with murky but smooth vocals.
