Ash Koosha's forthcoming Ninja Tune debut, l AKA l, is looking like one of the label's most wildly experimental releases to date. Born Ashkan Kooshanejad in Iran, the now London-based composer's music is calculated insanity, like the mad descendant of The Gaslamp Killer, Amon Tobin and Aphex Twin. Last year's GUUD LP for Olde English Spelling Bee was impressive, and it's a nice surprise to see Ash Koosha return so soon as part of the Ninja Tune ranks. With the album slated for an April 1 release date, anticipation is high after hearing tracks like "Mudafossil" and "Biutiful." The latest single is "Ooh Uhh," an eerie alien of a track that splits its time between airy heights and a wet, swampy murk. Check it out, and pre-order l AKA l below.
