Kidnap Kid takes to the sky with new label and single "Birds That Fly"

After building up a seriously impressive back catalogue of records over the past 5 years, Black Butter Records regular Kidnap Kid has decided to spread his wings and launch his solo label Birds That Fly Records. Accompanying single "Birds That Fly" marks the start of an exciting and personal new direction for the talented producer who stated that the label was "born of the need for a home that felt in harmony with my musical aesthetic."

The opening vocal loop feels like a welcoming introduction to the new label with steady kicks gradually leading you into his new home. A sigh of relief is then breathed as signature Kidnap Kid synths indicate that he hasn't strayed too far from the acclaimed sound we all know so well. Having said that there is a certain maturity about the production to symbolise this new venture, with brooding keys sitting behind the rich, textured and at times emotional atmosphere. The standout moment comes from the pitched up looped vocal "Birds That Fly" around the mid-part of the record, it feels like an affirmation, like he's setting himself free to truly express himself.

It's a beautiful piece of music to launch his new label with and we look forward with great anticipation to see the artists he will work with in the future.
