Young Futura is a new collaboration between French Brooklyn-based Producer YMNO and DC rapper Beau Young Prince, and they've been out for blood since day one, individually and as a duo. I've shared some of Beau's work before, but each time I hear from him you can tell that improvement is the name of his game.
"We Get Lit" is a dance track. There's no going around that, it just is. What I love about the way that BYP approaches it is that it sounds like that style is starting to mold itself around his natural voice. I've heard him on typical rap songs before, and I've heard him in similar dance situations, and I have to say that the dance music he's been a part of truly stands out. I'd be surprised if Beau did not continue this path, as he has been mighty successful as of late.
As for YMNO, he's new to me, but I'm starting to pick up on his style and the reason behind this fresh out of the box collaboration. He's a good balance between progressive and traditional, producing tracks that fit the specific niche of Beau's voice. The two have hit gold, and I'd confidently say they're onto something with this project.
