Find them at basement nights and warehouse one-offs reaching from New York to Montreal and overseas Berlin, a collective of connoisseuring clubbers. The recent flood of clichéd counterfeits has left much of today's dance music better left unheard, but it’s the rumours stuck in our head that tug at our ego and give us the need to shine light. A compulsive urge to spread from one ear to the next, to draw a line between bottle service cogs and the cutting edge of electronic music, music built to live in. There’s no room for Vegas roller coasters or casual chit chat, just Night Rumours worth spreading.

Considering the wealth of excellent music releases in the last few weeks, I would hypothesize that the impending wrap-up of 2015 has sent many artists into a creative frenzy–or at the very least, a final rush to get those unfinished tracks out the door before another year begins. This week's Night Rumours features a variety of highlights from releases that are pretty much all worth listening to in full.

Former member of Factory Floor, Shift Work, brings his electro-flavored techno to Houndstooth with "SBFM". Rødhåd lends a preview of his forthcoming Söhne Der Erde EP, and Person of Interest drops some mysterious Soundcloud gold. The longtime EARMILK favorites over at Infinite Machine deliver a fresh EP from Kommune. EARMILK alum Philip James de Vries's newest release on Strange Town Recordings will resonate with fans of Max Cooper, with its cinematic melodies and long buildup. Etapp Kyle keeps it moody on his second EP on Klockworks, South London Ordnance plays around with the vocals and synths of Femme en Fourrere, and Levon Vincent re-releases "Fear" on a bright pink 12" that will make the most digital of music hoarders crave a vinyl collection.

A Light in the Dark:

loffler

Christian Löffler's EP, due December 11, 2015 on Kompakt affiliate Hunter/Game's Just This imprint, has its dark moments, but is mostly defined by song-y structures and ethereal undertones, hence its placement in the "Light in the Dark" category here. While only snippets are available for listening at the moment, I'm most drawn to the title track, "Lost", and the remix by Lake People.
