On October 20th, EARMILK teamed up with YACHT to present a remix contest of their single "I Thought The Future Would Be Cooler," off their recent album sharing the same name. Many people submitted their remixes and the competition was fierce. Artists like Green remixes put their own funky disco remix to the original track and Disco Mike, in defiance of his name, put a swanky house beat to the track. Each track had it's own personality and could have easily won the contest, but today we are pleased to announce that the winner is German based producer Cettle.
Cettle's remix is a euphoric electrocution of future RnB with tinges of trap percussion. Fluttering synths, hyper-rhythmic snares, and distortion samples of the vocal stems make this remix glisten. This song embodies the original persona of the YACHT's song while adding an optimistic and uplifting take to the song that boasts, "Hey, the future might have been cooler, but the brave new world is still pretty damn fly."
