I think it's fair to say that Floridian rap music is booming right now. The Sunshine State has produced some of hip hop's brightest new stars, with the likes of Robb Bank$, Yung Simmie and Denzel Curry all hailing from the south. If you've been following me on any of my social media accounts, you'll know how much I rate Floridian collective Nu Age Syndicate, with the likes of Chester Watson & Kahmi featuring heavily in my posts in recent times. This time around, it's another Nu Age member hitting us with some fresh heat from the streets, as Kent Loon comes through with another banger, entitled "Selena".
Produced by his homie Chester Watson, who's beat making skills are on a par with his dope rhyming ability, "Selena" see's Kent at his gritty best. Backed by a dark, off-key instrumental, with real trap-laden vibes that match his tough lyricism, Loon sets about making his mark with a tight flow that rides the beat well. "Selena" takes off where his last joint "Prada" left off, with both bangers paving the way for Loon to consider dropping a tape, he's certainly getting the recognition that he deserves.
