A month or so ago, I covered an exceedingly original remix of The Weeknd’s summer anthem, “Can’t Feel My Face,” by a mysterious producer going by the name of T O U L O U S E. Initially, it was speculated on the hip-hop forum Kanye To The that T O U L O U S E was none other than Cashmere Cat, but it was later revealed that he was an unknown producer from Nigeria. Now, T O U L O U S E has released his second remix to-date, a remix of one of the most anticipated singles of this year, Kanye West’s “Wolves.”
The remix, appropriately titled “Wolves Reborn,” is bombastic, yet exceedingly haunting, electronic composition of the Sia and Vic Mensa assisted cut off of SWISH. The track overall sound could best be described as a fusion of the signature, respective sounds of Arca and Flume with its stuttered, bass plumes and 8-bit-esque, breakdowns.
An equally visceral montage done by New York-based director Dan Antebi accompanies the remix. The Antebi-produced video follows a young girl as she digresses into insanity at the hands of a lover. The video’s concept is derived from a sub-plot presented in DC’s forthcoming 'Suicide Squad,’ with the sub-plot in question being Dr. Harleen Quinzel’s torturous, digression into insanity at the hands of her lover the infamous, Joker.

Together, the remix and the found-footage video make for a dynamic pairing as they seamlessly expand upon each other’s narratives. Watch the ‘Wolves Reborn’ video above and stream T O U L O U S E’s remix of Yeezy’s “Wolves” below.
