At the heart of Chicago's burgeoning North Side hip-hop scene is a creative house that goes under the moniker, Private Stock. Private Stock have contributed to the work, and overall creative process, of rappers Saba and Astonish, as well as producers Born Ready and Ikon, the latter of whom is the mastermind behind The Chicago creative house and studio's debut project, The Private Stock EP. Recently, Ikon has collaborated with the likes of Jarred AG, ASA, and PIVOT GANG, on a strewn of singles. With those artists style of music in mind, it isn't hard to formulate the nature of the tape as being extremely eclectic.
Executively produced by Private Stock co-founder Jason Fayze Valcarcel, The Private Stock EP features No Name Gypsy and the mixing and mastering styling of Papi Beatz, who mixed and mastered Vic Mensa's Innanetape. Standout tracks consist of "Food for Thought," and "Same Ol" each of which features a distinct hip-hop sound.
