Louis The Child twirl us around on their remix of "Broken Record" by SoySauce

It's rare that I find a track I actually want to listen to when I'm sick, but this remix by Chicago based duo Louis The Child was one of those few and far between. Last night, I drifted off to "Broken Record" and it made me feel that much better, the circular motions of the remix and Joni Fatora's light-hearted vocals are just so soothing, positive and understated yet relaxed. Louis The Child seems to specialize in putting a dance-worthy spin on more delicate indie tunes.

Never mind that it's probably the most relatable subject matter, that relationship that goes around and around without any definable conclusion. And she sings it sexy, as Louis The Child gives SoySauce an entirely new sound. Not that I'm surprised and was initially shocked at how just how young they are, without even a whisper of ghost producers when I found them last summer. They were only 16 then… and I'm assuming just 17 now.
