When news of the passing of A$AP Mob head honcho A$AP Yams hit the internet, social media went into meltdown. Fellow artists and industry mogul's including the likes of A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa and Drake were quick to pay their respects to a man who, in essence, changed the rap game over the past couple of years. Not only did he bring Rocky and the rest of the Mob to our attention, but his knowledge of rap music in general was second to none.
One rapper who he reached out to the most was LA's talented up and comer Joey Fatts, whom Yams discovered and helped out with the release of his music on his label Yamborghini Records. Today, Fatts released a brand new track in tribute to his mentor, with the emotionally charged "Stevie World". Backed by a truly heartfelt sample-driven beat, Fatts raps on how Yams quite literally picked him up when he was sleeping in cars, and put him onto the rap stage for everyone to see, showing him the lavish lifestyle he was talented enough to live. Although the track is relatively short at just under two minutes, the content of what's really on Joey's mind right now is clear to see, and the pain in his voice noticeable.
You can stream "Stevie World" below, and everyone here at EARMILK would like to send our condolences to Yam's family, friends and the entire Mob at this difficult time. Rest in power Yam's, you've left a huge impact on the rap industry and you'll never be forgotten.
