Blue Sky Black Death's 88 Ultra shares dreamy new track "Higher Than You Know"

Kingston Maguire, one half of dreamy production duo Blue Sky Black Death, is branching out on his own under the solo alias 88 Ultra.  Formerly known simply as Kingston, the Seattle-based artist will release his debut album, Sirens, on January 14 via his own Ultra Glacial label.  For now, you can immerse your ears in the LP's lead single, "Higher Than You Know."

Certainly no huge step away from Blue Sky Black Death's typical sound, "Higher Than You Know" features bluesy guitar and a nice interplay between Nikki Wright's vocals and other, more processed voices.  Like the best of BSBD's music, the song is densely packed with shimmering life, each note rich and worthy of attention on its own, the finished product an emotional flight above the clouds.  You can preorder Sirens via 88 Ultra's Bandcamp.
