Brooklyn based producer Goste has released his first track from upcoming EP “Eugene,” due to be released on December 4th. Far more instrumental than his previous installments it features Bryan Percivall on bass, Chris Holdridge on drums, and vocalists Tamsin Wilson and Megan Lui. “Omar’s Ghost” is weird –as per usual Goste style- but is far more poppy and upbeat than his usual output despite some offbeat samples. His vocals, bluesy, raspy and with a good dose of soul make it difficult to put his music into a genre other than alt-electronic, although they don’t quite fit there either.
Based on the perspective of Omar from “The Wire” once he realizes that his lover has been killed, the track plays out positively euphoric but with plenty of distortion to keep it forever unusual.
