Trinidad Jame$ has paid tribute to Def Jam during their 30th Anniversary year just days after the iconic label celebrated with a concert in Brooklyn. James was dropped before even releasing a debut record with the label with which he reportedly signed a $2 million dollar deal. However, the ATL rapper doesn’t seem too disappointed, calling on the services of Young Scooter and Twista for this story about how being a real n**** got him the deal in this remix of “Def Jam”.
A menacing piano kicks in shortly after Jame$ gives us a short speech about how nothing’s changed since his Def Jam departure, as does a thick trap beat which is eventually graced by Twista’s vintage verse.
