Cool off with Arms and Sleepers’ “Swim Team” [Premiere]

It's a wonder why Arms and Sleepers haven't been getting as much attention these days. Max Lewis and Mirza Ramic formed Arms and Sleepers eight years ago, and dropped 16 releases since then. Their style is revolved around mellow beats, "chill hop" if you will (think Broke For Free, Shigeto, and Gold Panda). So if you have an appetite for chilled out head-bobbers with dashes of experimental, please continue to salivate.

Today, we give a first listen to their upcoming album Swim Team, which is due to drop October 28 via Fake Chapter Records. The bone Arms and Sleepers is throwing us is appropriately called "Swim Team". You'll notice in the first few seconds upon listening to this particular tune that it has a lo-fi, glitchiness aspect such as the vocals. However, it is soon balanced out by the smooth beat chugging along. Shortly, more and more effects join the fray to piece together an eclectic yet harmonious loop, much resembling the recipes of a Gold Panda track. It's an energetic track with a positive, uplifting feel that can lift you out from slumps or even a bad hair day.
