North Carolina rapper, pioneer of the 90’s Flow and most importantly EARMILK regular Chox-Mak is back with a new freestyle over an instant classic Drake beat. Worlds collide as the independent, retro stylings of Mak meets the musical arrangement of “Draft Day” which was hand crafted for the man who epitomises mainstream hip hop. Any underground rapper who doesn’t aspire to meet the lofty heights and success of the likes of Drizzy isn’t doing it right, and DJ YRS Jerzy said it best when he described the pair’s work ethic: Their goal is “to take over and at the rate they are moving they will be at the top soon.”
“I’m just falling in line, perfecting all of my cadence, be patient. The draft is already over, never be freshmen again so just put my face on a poster. Double XL my face in bars, never need a coaster”
Mak’s no stranger to laying down vintage verses over heavyweight beats, his take on Kanye West’s “Bound 2” still goes hard months after its release. “Draft Day” is yet another confident, lyrically supreme effort so check it out below and be sure to keep it locked with EARMILK for all the latest from Chox-Mak.
