I've been a writer at EARMILK for 7 months now, and I truly do value my first write ups because they've been my contacts for so long now. One of those happens to be the 19-year-old sensation from Switzerland, Sebastian Carter, who I first introduced to the world back in October with his edit of Alt-J's "Breezeblocks". Since then Sebastian has been taken care of by some of the other wonderful writers here at EARMILK, toppling the Soundcloud game one easy-listening groove at a time. I'm more than ecstatic to link back up for his edition of The 1975's "You".
We normally see echoing, drowned out sounds from Carter, but today the combination of The 1975's guitar riffs and the producer's sweet undertones develops this track into something we didn't anticipate. We're hit with a whirlwind of synthy cow bells as the track drops into a slow and steady groove over lead singer Matthew Healy's "chocolate" vocals. Don't get me wrong, Sebastian stays true to his chilled out nature, but there's an upbeat nature creeping into his latest releases.
Take a listen to Sebastian's flip of "You" and make sure to grab some of his earlier releases on his Soundcloud. Switzerland for the win!
