EARMILK took a stroll around Jason Anthony’s “Phree Society” a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The artist formerly known as Jay Sinificance is still keeping it real after dropping his alias with a new mixtape on the horizon. As he looks forward to making some Renovations in May with the new release, the West Chester PA artist has meshed a few tracks he recorded in the reflective time he spent after his two years in jail. You can sense hopefulness in Anthony’s work in this third instalment of the Tax Free Series and it makes for some great rap music that combines atmospheric production with some stellar lyricism.
Struggle is a recurring theme in this independent rapper's rhymes; one of the standout aspects in his performances is the ability to express these emotions through an innovative range of flows over creative beats. As documentary style hip hop looks like it's becoming a lost art, hungry underground artists such as Jason Anthony continue to tell captivating stories for fun.
