Being one of the biggest and most well respected producers in hip-hop is no mean feat. Alchemist can count himself among an elite few who are seen by many as gods of the boards, alongside the likes of DJ Premier and Just Blaze. His clientele list speaks for itself, as the LA native has worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Nas and Mobb Deep as well a becoming Eminem's official DJ in 2005. More recently, Alchemist has worked with New York native Action Bronson on their joint free album Rare Chandeliers as well as dropping his own album Russian Roulette in 2012.

Yesterday, Alchemist leaked more information on his upcoming project with Evidence, the emcee and producer extraordinaire from the group Dilated Peoples. The duo, who go under the alias Step Brothers, have given us a complete tracklist for their album Lord Steppington, which is set to have guest verses from the likes of Domo Genesis, Styles P and Action Bronson. Alongside the tracklist, they also revealed the album artwork and a free downloadable track that isn't part of the full release.

"Ron Carter" sounds like a typical Alchemist production, with a nicely chopped sample that has a sinister undertone to on top of some dry; organic drums that bang all over the track. Evidence delivers with a nice flow, and a style that was apparently influenced by a group called Big Fortune, who disbanded in 1989 after their DJ became self destructive and ended up fighting with another member.

You can download "Ron Carter" for free below, or by visiting Rhymesayers Soundcloud page. Lord Steppington is due to be released on 21st January 2014, and you can expect to see an official single and video as well as a pre-order link on the 19th November.
