New York artist Justin Hunter Scott, better known as Stout Cortez, is a man of many talents. He is a musician, producer, mixer, writer, but above all he is an artist. Stout made his debut release earlier this year with Where Are U Going EP, which was released on Le Risque Records. Where Are U Going was resilient of Cortez's experimental psychedelic pop sound. Distorted vocals on top of abstracted and ambient synth beds helped Cortez to establish a sound uniquely his own.
Earmilk has teamed up with Cortez for an exclusive premiere of “The Crowd Goes Wild” off of his upcoming LP scheduled for release in early 2014. This single has a unique ring to it and resembles something of a hybrid of Atlas Genius, Menomena, Animal Collective and Big Black Delta. Short and sweet but every bit satisfactory, “The Crowd Goes Wild” is a great indicator for what’s to come from his sophomore release.
