SOHN (signed with 4AD) comes in hard with "Lessons", the Vienna-based producer's newest track to hit the airwaves. The note-worthy song was made available today (September 11), along with his European and US tour announcement.
Not too long ago we were utterly captured by his collaborative work with BANKS on "Waiting Game", which was an emotional ride to say the least. "Lessons" similarly evokes a sentimental quality that we can remember from SOHN's Bloodflows EP, including the single titled "The Wheel". This newest single is dark, introspective and remains electronically minimal, staying true to his original approach.
The latter half of the track boils over into a climactic and expansive entity, that comes alive in itself. With a slight R+B influence that emerges intermittently, alongside SOHN's vocals, the dark synth and distortion prove symmetrical, giving the track a sullen yet charming appeal.
