L'Orange & Stik Figa – "Blind Tiger"

L'Orange has proven himself to be a conjurer of beats that stand strongly on their own, and hearing a great emcee over them can only be a good thing. It has been recently announced that the North Carolina native is teaming up with Kansas wordsmith Stik Figa for a new collaborative album entitled The City Under The City. Their new single "Blind Tiger" features Stik decimating a signature L'Orange head-nodder, weaving rhymes over a precisely chopped vocal sample and haunting strings. The lyrical prowess and grimy sound are reminiscent of the the work of DOOM and The Wu-Tang Clan, not to mention the vocal snippet introduction. These two seem to have built a partnership to be reckoned with.

The City Under The City will be released on October 15th via Mellow Music Group. It will feature assistance from Rapsody, Has-Lo, yU and Open Mike Eagle, as well as scratches and cuts from DJ Iron.
