In mid January, Mississippi flag-bearer Big K.R.I.T. released King Remembered in Time, his first release since dropping his Def Jam debut, Live from the Underground, to lukewarm reception. The mixtape featured many stellar cuts, one of which was a snippet for "Just Last Week" featuring current hookmaster Future. Today, we have been blessed with the full version, and it is every bit as good as the snippet suggested.
The full length adds an additional K.R.I.T. verse — one that finds his flow at its most formidable, carving out space over his finest strip club-curated beat since "What You Mean?", and even more electrifying vocals from Future Hendrix. It's an odd collaboration on paper, but the two southern kings come together to produce a fine record that effectively represents and finds middle group between two sides of the region.
