No artist or group out makes music more sinister than the Flatbush Zombies. Most of their records sound like they could serve collectively as the official soundtrack of pure evil. Their latest song, “Palm Trees,” is no exception. The title itself is a carefully crafted, two-fold metaphor for both weed and those “throwing shade.” The creepy, cowering vocal sample—courtesy of in-house producer Erick Arc Elliott—is perfect for the unique stylings of each member. Meechy is “Glock Lesnar” in the octagon, Zombie Juice is a strangely cartoony juxtaposition (in a good way) when paired with the aforementioned elements, and Erick is continuing to prove he’s more than just a killer behind the boards. Listen to the record below, and look out for the Zombies’ upcoming project, Better of Dead, later this year.
Flatbush Zombies have various tour dates all over the place, and will be releasing Better Off Dead soon.
