Charlotte, North Carolina is home talent outside of just J.Cole. Deniro Ferrar is killing it! that is really the easiest way to breakdown the sound and approach to rap that he has taken. Connecting with young production talent like Ryan Hemsworth and Flosstradamus. His sound is raw, uncut, gutter meets electronic, detail oriented, out of the box productions. I was initially introduced to him after hearing his verses for the Grimes "Genesis" remix.The angelic instrumental along side the drums has me my shoulders bouncing as I type out this post. What I always liked about Deniro was his ability to fully express what's going on around him whether it be positive or negative. "Big Tookie" is a salute to the infamous Stanley Tookie Williams credited with being a leader of the world famous Crips gang. The video was directed by Anthony Supreme and remains consistent with his previous videos– simplistic showcasing his southern roots as well as his immediate environment. This single is off of Deniro's newest project The Patriarch. I highly suggest checking out this new release.
