Jimmy Edgar – "Sex Drive" (Scuba's Dub of Doom)

Like many before him, Jimmy Edgar mixed a synth-heavy, percussion-ridden beat and put a strange robotic woman's voice over the top. A strange trend to see happening, but one that I have seen before with artists like Jagged, who in "Hollywood" has a minute of narrative describing how a man can make a woman "his slave by giving her the best head she has ever had." So "Sex Drive" had nothing particularly new, but was a good tune.

Scuba (founder of Hotflush, whom Jimmy Edgar recorded under) thought that he could add something different to this song and he was right. The supposed "Dub of Doom" is powerful and hits you hard, with a sound similar to "Viol" by Gesaffelstein. The bass on this song is next level and will vibrate your whole body if you are unfortunately beside the speaker at the time this song drops. Bass, a nice fast percussion and a creepy woman, what's not to like?
