If you listen to anything today, I implore you to give Bitches Is Crazy (B.I.C.) a chance, not simply because their name reveals a brutally honest truth, but because that same frankness is reflected in the music. Their brash Influence mixtape is raw and reminiscent of the gems carved out of NYC’s boroughs in years past. The collection of MCs has a certain flair for the authentic that seems less like ‘90s impressionism and more like a modern evolution. In many ways, B.I.C. is the Bronx counterpart of up-and-coming Queens group, Children of the Night; only the former’s individual sounds are far more defined and distinct. The group members include Yesus, Yisrael, Pete, ill spills, MP, Chuk, and the deceased SE Word. The project is a healthy 19 tracks (two bonus) and boasts impressive production. Be on the lookout for this group in the not too distant future.
